Fantasy Baseball Hot Stove Says:
The most important stats with Michael Cuddyer are 84, 14, and 66. Those are the number of games he played at first base, third base, and right field last season. Depending on the league, that likely means Cuddyer is eligible at three different places heading into next season. Such diverse skills are relatively low.
In previewing Cuddyer last season, it seemed like his home runs had to go down based on where his home run to fly ball rate ended up in 2009. A stat correction did take place last year as Cuddyer's home run total was cut down from 32 to 14. Coupled with the fact that he hit just .271 and stole only 6 bases, Cuddyer's numbers were worthy of yawns a season ago.
Projection: At 32 years old and with uninspiring numbers he's not someone to get excited about. At the same time, he's been ranked in the top 115 two straight seasons.
