Drafted by the Blue Jays in the third round (80th overall) of the 2003 MLB Amateur Draft, Marcum was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in December. The change of scenery could be a career booster for Marcum, who is coming off the best season of his five-year career. The hard-throwing right-handed hurler went 13-8 with a 3.64 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. Those aren't exactly All-Star numbers, but considering Marcum pitched in the hitter-friendly American League East and was one year removed from Tommy John surgery, his numbers were very encouraging. Marcum will fit nicely as the No. 3 guy in Brew Crew's rotation behind Yovani Gallardo and Zack Greinke, who the Brewers acquired in a trade in December. Marcum could also be your No. 3 guy if he puts it all together.
